This brand-new 49-spline transfer case pump comes with a Merchant Automotive machined pump plate already installed, ready to drop into an NP261HD, NP263HD, NP261XHD or NP263XHD transfer case on 2001 - 2007 Duramax Silverado and Sierra 2500HD/3500HD trucks. The pump supplies oil to the planetary and drive sprocket, and it can be damaged by low fluid from leaking seals, a damaged drain plug or the common pump rub problem, where the pump housing's tabs wear through the rear case. Our machined pump plate helps keep the pump from wearing into the case housing, so you get a new pump and pump rub protection in one part.

It's backed by our limited lifetime warranty against pump rub when installed with a new rear housing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need the 49-spline or 38-spline pump?

It depends on your transfer case's mainshaft spline count. HD cases can have either one, so count the splines before ordering. For 38-spline cases, see our 38 Spline Pump with MA Pump Plate.

How do I know if my pump needs replacing?

Check the pump during any rebuild. If the metal is discolored from heat, or if there are scrapes or gouges deep enough to catch a fingernail, replace the pump rather than reuse it.

Does this include the gasket and sealant?

No. This is the pump with our plate installed. For the adapter gasket, RTV and threadlocker, use our complete Transfer Case Pump Upgrade Kit, or buy the Transfer Case Adapter Gasket separately.

Anything else to check during installation?

Make sure the pickup tube O-ring is in place before installing the pickup tube into the pump. Without it, the pump draws in air along with fluid and can starve the case of lubrication.

Is there a warranty against pump rub?

Yes. This pump carries our limited lifetime warranty against pump rub. If it's installed with a new rear housing and your case still wears a hole from pump rub, we will buy you a new transfer case.

The warranty covers pump rub only and applies only to installations with a new rear housing.
